About Erika Groeneveld
Erika was born in 1975 in the Netherlands and moved to England in 2010. She gets her inspiration from unexpected encounters with nature. The conversations she has had, over the years, about her motives and work, always resulted in the same conclusions, the sheer awesomeness of natures force. She finds the tension between man and its surrounding world fascinates her. As interesting to her, is to find that same wonder in others, and to see the similarities and differences between that work and hers own.
Educational Past
Erika Graduated from the Academy of Art, Constanteijn Huijgens, in Kampen, the Netherlands in 2001. She majored in 3D-Autonomous, as well as a First degree teachers training, targeting adolescents and adults. The specialisation as a result of the major is CKV, which is a relatively new subject that consists of Cultural and Artistic education in general.
The future's looking bright
In the near future Erika is hopefully starting a new venue. The plan is to offer three different services from under the same roof. She will offer a range of customised courses, varying from life drawing, to oriented art history. She will tailor these to requests from the participants, and bring in different guest teachers. Furthermore there will be regularly changed art exhibitions in her gallery for up and coming artists. Last, but not least, she plans to offer art lovers the opportunity to rent artwork, for unlimited time periods. That way you can experience a greater variety of art, as well as giving you the opportunity to try before you buy the work you fell in love with.
